Improving the user experience of the Wärtsilä field sales tool

Wärtsilä had started a project to provide a quotation tool to help their field sales representatives’ work. The aim was to streamline the sales work by creating an effective way to explore and store customer needs while automating pricing and reducing repetitive tasks.

The sales organization had already tried out a similar tool but it turned out that the usability of the tool had to be rethought. As thousands of quotations were to be made every week with the tool, an intuitive user experience for all users was an essential feature in order to achieve the business goals. It was also noted that the technical platform had some limitations, due to which some creative problem-solving skills were required alongside senior design skills.

This is where Wärtsilä turned to Finitec with a UX/UI Designer case.
